A mass and a premiere as a heartfelt appeal to humanity: a hundred years ago, Frank Martin wrote one of the greatest masterpieces in Swiss music history. The Ensemble Choeur3 will present this work from a completely new perspective. To do this, the saxophonist and performer Philippe Koerper (* 1986, F/CH) will develop intermediate pieces that reflect and expand the breathtaking beauty of Frank Martin’s sound architecture. Inspired by the vastness of Iceland, a unique cooperation between two top-class European ensembles – chamber choir Ensemble Choeur3 (Dreiland) and Cantoque Ensemble (Island) – creates a completely new look at one of the most important milestones in choral music of the 20th century.
