In 1936, Frank Martin composed the ballet music Die blaue Blume for a competition organized by choreographer Pino Mlakar. Deemed too avant-garde, the work was shelved and forgotten for almost a century.
A spectacular world première took place in October 2024 in Geneva, conducted by Thierry Fischer and in collaboration with Compagnie Käfig and choreographer Mourad Merzouki. Now, this energetic company joins forces with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra (OSESP), of which Thierry Fischer is Music Director and Principal Conductor.
