The neglected music of Ernest John Moeran has become something of a speciality for the ensemble. As Gramophone put it of the Trio’s collection of his chamber works, ‘especially valuable here is the superbly articulate and memorably affectionate advocacy lent to the disarming Piano Trio’; they also include music by Irish composer Joan Trimble, and the Swiss Frank Martin’s 1925 piece inspired by Irish folk tunes.
